Reimagining Education: Bridging Tech & Literacy in King County.

From Screens to Stories: Amiya Ingram’s Mission to Empower the Next Generation.

King County encompasses some of the most dominant tech companies in the world being Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and a few others. Amiya wants to build stronger partnerships with these companies to provide more mentorship pathways for students to grow their long for reading, writing, and furthering their education. According to the National Assessment Governing Board the average reading score for students has decreased by 3% for fourth and eighth grade students. With technology on the rise, it's imperative we work alongside tech companies to determine a probable solution that will close the gap on the educational challenges we are facing. Why tech? Well, tech has changed the way we interact, providing dopamine hits to the brain whether it be via social media apps, games, streaming, and much more. Students may feel less conviction to read and write, simply because they don’t feel they have to. Amiya wants to re-define education through leveraging technology for good through strategic integration that makes skills like reading and writing a priority again. Once we have the companies behind us who insight the most change in our world, we can creatively bring back our core values to future generations.
