A Human-Centered Solution

Amiya’s response is bold, empathetic, and action-driven. She plans to implement non-traditional temporary housing shelters equipped with critical support services—documentation assistance, medical evaluations, mental health professionals, free food, clean water, and more. These shelters would act as launching pads to reintegrate citizens into the workforce and stable living conditions. “The housing crisis by no means will be a quick fix,” Amiya says, “but for humanity, it is our duty to lift each other up and give each other life no matter the circumstances.” Through grassroots efforts and the power of community, she aims to significantly reduce homelessness within the next three years.
